ICEFA 2015 Prize Awards – Tallin, Estonia

On 15 and 16 October 2015 prizes were presented to the Estonian winners of the 43rd International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice by Head of the Lidice Gallery and Curator of the Lidice International Children's Competition I. Kasalická  and Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Estonia R. Kadlčák.

The International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice is one of the biggest undertakings of its kind in the world. This year saw more than 21,000 entries come from over 70 countries. It is gratifying to see also seven Estonian children among this year's winners of this big contest.

They are the following:

- Tatjana Põlkina (11 years) from the Youth Creativity Centre in Kohtla-Järve (Kohtla-Järve Koolinoorte Loomemaja)

- Kamila Magsumov (7 years) from the “Stuudio DAK” art school

- Jeva Volkova (7 years) from the “Stuudio DAK” art school

- Daria Volkova (7 years) from the “Stuudio DAK” art school

- Denis Pomozov (7 years) from the “Stuudio DAK” art school

- Luisa Marie Lepik (6 years) from the nursery Sinilind  (Tallinna Lasteaed Sinilind)

- Kärt Heinvere (13 years) from the Pelgulinna gymnasium (Pelgulinna Gümnaasium)

Also the teachers of the award-winning children received special accolades. They were the following: Aleksandra Nimerovits from the “Stuudio DAK” art school, Kaia Siim from the nursery Sinilind, Tiiu Esnar from the Pelgulinna gymansium and Tamara Khandeshina from the Youth Creativity Centre in Kohtla-Järve.

The prize-giving ceremony took place in two phases. First, 15 November 2015 saw the Narva building of the new TV station ETV+ host a preview of an exhibition about the International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice in the presence of Mayor E. East. Included were also original entries of Estonian children who had been awarded in the competition.  The second part of the prize-giving ceremony took place at the Czech Embassy in Estonia on the following day. Both ceremonies were attended by the representatives of the Lidice Memorial Marie Borová and Klára Klímová.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Estonia offers their cordial congratulations to all winners, their teachers and their parents.
