On Tuesday 5 June 2012 a ceremonial opening took place of the exhibition Lidice Tragedy and the selection of the best winning entries of the International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts on the premises of the European parliament in Brussels. Taking place with the support and under the patronage of the MEP Vladimír Remek, the exhibition was launched with ceremonial speeches by the ex-chairman of the EP, Mr. Jerzy Buzek, MEP Knut Fleckenst, Ambassadress of the CR to the EU Milena Vicenová and MEP Vladimír Remek. The ceremonial opening was attended by many prominent guests and other MEPs. The event was covered by the radio Český Rozhlas and the ČT's main news programme.
