Commemoration of the 75 th Anniversary of the Lidice tragedy took place traditionally at the Lidice Memorial Park in Crest Hill on June 10, 2017. In Crest Hill there is one of two Lidice monuments in the United States - a remembrance of great wave of solidarity raised by the Lidice tragedy in USA. Father Dušan Hladík opened the program hosted by the President of the Czechoslovak American Congress John Pritasil. The program included national anthems and musical selections by the United Moravian Societies Children of the T.G. Masaryk School, presentation of poems by children from Czech Chicago schools under the leadership of their teachers Irena Čejková, Klára Moldová and Pavlína Reichlová. Among those who addressed the audience was Jerri Zbiral, one of Lidice woman´s daughter and Adam Wilt, vice president of the Congress. The flags were presented by members of central district of American society of Sokol.
On that occasion the exhibition Tragedy of Lidice and exhibition of awarded art works of the International Children´s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice provided by Lidice Memorial were presented.
Consul General of the Czech Republic in Chicago, Bořek Lizec handed Honorable mention over to Maria Rehanan, awarded in the 45th edition of ICEFA 2017.
