ICEFA 2010 prize awards - Philippines, Manila

On 7 December 2010 the Czech embassy in Manila hosted ceremonial prize awards to the Philippine children awarded in the 38th International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts 2010. Out of seven winners five arrived in person (Trisha Reyes, Krysten Alarice Tan, Desamero Dheil Christian, Perez Jeson and Leyco Diane Alexandra). The children came with their parents and teachers and the Ramon Magsaysay High School was represented also by the headmistress.

The event started with a presentation about the Czech Republic with an interesting discussion about Lidice. Then Ambassador Josef Rychtar presented the children with honourable mentions, exhibition catalogues and small gift parcels prepared by the Embassy, consisting of materials on the Czech Republic. A special acknowledgement went out to one of the winning girls, Tirsha Reyes, who received a special certificate from the hands of Ambassador for her several awards in this notable exhibition. The award ceremony was concluded with a small meal and an informal discussion.

The non-winning children and organizations received letters of thanks, catalogues and invitations to participate in the next edition of the exhibition. Details on the next edition were sent also to the Ministry of Education which promised to distribute them. We believe in ample participation of Philippine children next year, hoping that some of them will win the main prize.
