ICEFA 2012 Prize Awards – Mexico, Mexico

The 23rd January 2013 saw the Embassy in Mexico, in co-operation with the Montessori primary school in the Mexican Lidice, organizing a prize-giving ceremony to recognize children awarded in the 40th International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice 2012. The school is located in the district San Jerónimo Lidice, a town of its own in the 1940s, now a part of the capital of Mexico City
Besides the pupils of the school, big and small alike, from 2 to 13 years, as well as the teaching staff and representatives of the board of education, also the parents of the awarded pupils attended the beautiful and moving ceremony. The children demonstrated their knowledge of the Lidice history, which was explained to them in the school last year when entries were being created. There were 4 prize-winners aged 6, 7, 8 and 12 years; besides the certificates, they received from the Embassy a set of small keepsakes related to the Czech Republic.
At the meeting with the school management, the Embassy promised to facilitate contact with a Czech Montessori school to establish informal twin relations.
